First heard "On My Way" through Pandora radio sending me. I first thought...another great car-driving CD & garage-y sounding, which is a personal favorite. I took a listen to all the samples on DRAMA JUNKIE QUEEN & liked 'em all! I would say BILLY BOY ON POISON'S most similar to Jet, or The Strokes (who, even though I own 2 CD's feel they were very overrated & overhyped) of the neo-garage-rock bands; however, they draw from different influences & BILLY BOY rocks harder!!!"On My Way" starts DRAMA JUNKIE QUEEN off with a blast of cocky, energetic, audacious rock 'n roll!!!! Then, as DRAMA JUNKIE QUEEN progresses, beginning with the next track, "Saturday's Child", you hear the glam, merging with the garage & BBOP do it in top-form!!! Shades of Ian Hunter & Mott the Hoople, Slade, Mark Bolin & T. Rex, and.....another band that sooooo many have been influenced by, yet didn't get the recognition they deserved (far more than Sex Pistols) New York Dolls!!! Adding another layer to the pulsing duo of glam-garage...throw in a little punk, too. Those are the "lightest" song lyrics. The rest of the CD gets very real, beginning with next track "Happy Valentine's Day" & "Angry Young Man". LOVE "Drive Me Insane" raw power w/nice finish! "You're Too HIgh" which could be mistaken for a title track returns to more of the glam-garage combination! The 2 slower paced songs are just that, not ballads. First of which is the bittersweet beauty "4 Leaf Clover"& the 2nd is the phenominal DJQ CD closing track - the melancholic "Another Lonely Start", another gem! DJQ has a serious side & that's what also showcases the songwriting beyond typical neo-garage rock. The songs all pack a punch both lyrically and musically; so, DRAMA JUNKIE QUEEN is totally "win-win"! It's very refreshing to hear a band drawing on influences from the above-named bands, especially adding the glam part to the "garage" package...That, in particular, makes BBOP a standout. I had to read the liner notes & check to see where they hail from, because I lean toward Brits or Aussies and was convinced they had to be British. It was a nice surprise to see that BILLY BOY ON POISON are from U.S., taking back & totally "owning" real r 'r!!!What makes DRAMA JUNKIE QUEEN a truly spectacular standout is BILLY BOY ON POISON, the band itself: the lyrics (Contributor: Michael Gurley), strong lead vocals (Davis LeDuke), great "not too long" guitar riffs (throw in some Slash-like to the mix!!) & terrific drums (ya gotta have a beat, after all, or nothing's going to work!) and DRAMA JUNKIE QUEEN'S an exciting, massive CD by impressive, talented musicians BILLY BOY ON POISON!! Get ahold of this CD - you won't be sorry & especially b/c, sadly, BILLY BOY ON POISON'S no longer intact. They released a gargantuan neat slice of really great music & scattered...I managed to research & find that lead singer, Davis LeDuke followed BBOP with band BAD THINGS self-titled CD; from there, I didn't find anything further. BAD THINGS is also extremely good (and there's a surprise guitar player...no spoils from me!) that if you like BBOP you may also like BAD THINGS (but their styles not as kick-a**)
