I slept on them very well, just could have been a bit softer. We will definitely keep them!These are by far the best pillows I have ever had. Make sure to fluff them when you get them out of the packaging. Get pillow cover protectors as well.I'll quickly summarize my pillow experiences because thought process is important to decision making. I will also mention as of this writing I have only been using the pillows for a couple weeks. They are a definite recommend. My wife loves her King size as she uses the whole thing almost like a mattress and sleeps very soundly. I am a side sleeper and it is good but i do have cheaper pillows that work almost as well.My wife and I have always been resigned to just buying new pillows every 6 months or so as we have never found pillows that don't go permanantly flat even if you try placing them in the dryer. On the other hand we have never bought expensive pillows. About two years ago I bought a gel foam (not shredded) pillow which was horrible. Made my head sweat, flattened overnight. On the other hand I have to say after two years it still always re-inflates to its original shape.My son bought a deluxe bamboo shredded memory foam pillow a couple months ago and brags about it. So I borrowed it for a night and boy was it comfortable. Head stayed cool, pillow didn't flatten...and with a light fluff it goes to any consistency you would want. I felt a little silly at that point because since I hated my gel foam pillow so much I assumed all gel foam pillows would be horrible. Boy was I wrong. My son bought his bamboo pillow from big lots for 29.99.However, I travel a lot and I love some hotel pillows, especially the royal hotel pillows so I got on amazon and was destined to buy either a royal hotel pillow or a deluxe bamboo pillow. So I bought the royal hotel in King size. In the meantime while waiting for them to arrive, I went to big lots and they had a 20% the entire store sale. So I thought, why not get a bamboo deluxe for 24 bucks since I paid 160 for the royal hotel set of two pillows? Then I noticed big lots had a shredded gel foam pillow (queen sized) in pairs on sale for 16 bucks! After comparing them to the deluxe bamboo pillow they were essentially the same with the exception of two things. The bamboo has a superior pillow case and the bamboo is about 3 inches longer. However, I could buy 2 tempur pedics for the cost of 1 bamboo (which is what I did).So I slept 3 extremely comfortable nights on the tempur pedics from big lots and just knew I was going to return the 160+ bucks worth of royal hotel pillows from amazon as soon as they arrived. After all, I could buy 10 queen sized tempur pedics for the price of one king size royal hotel!Then the royal hotel pillows arrived. They were vacuumed sealed and looked really flat. Since we just got a king size bed, wife convinced me to open them up to try them out before we return them. Well, they never got returned. They are extremely comfortable for her (she is 130 lbs). They are also the best pillows I have ever owned (I am an athletic 230lbs), but not that much better than the 16 dollar tempur pedic shredded gel foam. With both I sleep and never wake up until morning.So, for sure, you cannot go wrong with these Royal Hotel pillows...but if 160 is a lot for you...take a trip to big lots.Used it for neck pain. Works wellI have owned these pillows for a year and a half. Recently the piping around the edge has began deteriorating, the piping is made of a synthetic material and is breaking down into small fibers that can beingested while sleeping. Be careful.Medium first is great for softies tooThe quality of this pillow is amazing, the one I bought was firm, I cannot image what extra firm is like. Way to firm, so firm, I will skip medium firm and order up a soft.my delivery was a bit delayed, however well worth the wait, great quality product, exactly what I wanted!!I've bought a lot of down pillows in my time, in the dozens. These king firm are the best I have purchased. The down fill is phenomenal. It's the kind of density I would expect to pay for a single $400 pillow at my local department store; and here, you get two for almost half that price. I'm sure it's a volume thing with Amazon because these are top-of-the-line. I am using two on my king-bed, and I am purchasing four more for my massage therapy clinic for my pregnant patients and those with orthopedic issues. Yes, they are that good! I read a lot of complaints here about an odor. I have encountered no such odor, and I am hyper-sensitive to these kinds of issues. There was no need to air these out. Only down side was the $40 shipping cost. No Amazon free shipping here, but they were shipped FedEx and got here in two-days. Total price still far less than what I would have paid for one pillow of this quality. So, so happy!This has got to be the worst Amazon purchase I have ever done in my lifetime!!! Based on the reviews I was so optimistic and confident in this purchase. What a disappointment as they reek too high heavens!!! I can’t even sleep on them. I’ve put them in the dryer with Gain dyer sheets, I have frozen them outside for 12 hours in -20c temperatures, nothing takes the pureit smell out of them. Why? Because they are cheap knock off from China. A LOT of money wasted. Don’t make the same mistake I made in looking at the reviews as these pillows are going straight into the garbage now. Total waste of money!!!**Update - it’s been a year and these are still the best pillows ever. Ordering a second set for my in laws!** Life changing pillows. It’s very important for a bed to be a welcoming retreat. Ordered king size in extra firm and standard in firm. I’ve got to say they’re the best down pillows I’ve ever encountered and I’ve stayed in luxury hotels...these are amazing! No deflation, no leaks, quality cannot be overstated. Shipped fast from California - there was NO duty.These are wonderful. I've been searching for the perfect pillow for 2 years, and everything else has disappointed. Even the highest luxury down pillow from Pacific Coast Feather (which was good, but didn't have the luxury feel I was hoping for). I read reviews on the Royal Hotel Goose down pillows, and took a chance, and I'm so glad I did! I love going to bed now just so I can feel my head sinking (not too fast, not too slow) into this pillow. I feel like a princess. Or at least like I'm at some really posh hotel. And they come in a pair! I would have paid the price for just one. Great pillow, highly recommend!It's firm. Really firm, but not terrible. A 500 thread count is not enough to keep the down/feathers inside the pillows. I frequently find feathers all over the place, so I would recommend a good pillow protector. However, with these pillows I have never found myself being poked by any of the feathers, which was a reason I threw out the old pillows. The one thing I love about these pillows is they always bounce back. They never permanently flatten, which makes them very cost effective if you can't stand a flattened pillow. A good shake and they're fluffed up just like new.
