I bought a new Sleep Number Split Top California King bed in December, and also bought sheets from them to fit it even though they were way more expensive than any sheets I had ever bought before. I assumed they would fit it well since they sold the beds and it isn't easy to find sheets for a Split Top California King bed in the stores. Wrong! I guess I may be a little picky, but a California King bed is 4 inches longer and 4 inches narrower than a regular king size bed, so I assumed that the top sheet for the bed would also be 4 inches longer and four inches narrower than the top sheet for a regular king size bed. Boy was I wrong! I called them about the sheets being too short, and after a few phone calls and some research on their part, I was informed that they make a "one size fits all" California King size sheet of 102 inches long. My husband is over six feet tall, which is why we bought the California King size bed in the first place. A sheet of 102 inches in length doesn't stay tucked in at the bottom when he gets in bed as I only had about 2 or 3 inches to tuck. So I started on my quest.Since I can't find these specialty sheets for split top in the stores, especially during COVID times, I proceeded to start my quest on Amazon. Most sellers seem to sell top sheets for this bed at 102" L X 102" W which makes no sense to me. I weeded them out right away. Then I started emailing sellers when the size wasn't clear (like which measurement is the length and which is the width). I won't bore you with the complete saga, but 5 months later, today I finally have two sheet sets that are pretty much the stated size AFTER they shrink (yes, even washing them in cold water and drying them on low like they tell you to do). I bought my second set right after I found out the first one worked well so I would have two sets of sheets to rotate. I have returned 6 or 7 sheet sets or top sheets to other sellers (I frankly lost count) who were gracious about me returning them after they could not provide me with the correct measurements for the sheet. A few of them tried to be helpful in some other ways as well and I appreciate that, but it didn't change the fact that they could not provide me with a sheet that fit properly.Here is my advice to anyone else reading this review. First, measure the top sheet as soon as you receive them, straight out of the package. If you wash them, they won't accept them for returns. Second, expect 100% cotton sheets to shrink when you wash them--mine shrunk about 4-5 inches in length and width. I didn't worry about the width as much as the Cal King bed is narrower than the regular king bed. Third, let sellers know that one size top sheet doesn't fit all king sized beds. Maybe if enough people tell them, they won't be so lazy and will make sheets that fit the bed properly. Don't settle for less!Works great for my California King split head mattress. Beautiful color too.Like the fit and ease of fitting. Dislike too thick.
